Welcome!
Is your child really struggling?
Maybe school is an issue…his grades have plummeted, he can't pay attention, and he seems angry?
Or maybe, your child is an A+ student, but life at home is becoming a real challenge? Maybe your child is mean to siblings?
Has your child been different ever since your divorce? Perhaps your child is adopted, and that's now an issue? Or is your family is facing a serious illness, and you know it's impacting your child?
Maybe you feel like, “I just want my child to be happy!”—but you’re not getting any traction?
Maybe this issue is impacting everyone in your family, and hurting your marriage?
I can help.
My name is Athena Brewer, and I am a child therapist. I have seen the power of child therapy and believe in it so strongly that I only see children, teens, and their parents (or other caretakers, such as grandparents) in my practice. I’ve helped many, many children who are struggling, and I would be honored to help you and your child.
Here's something you might not know:
Therapy can help ALL children.
If a child is doing good, that child will do even better.
If a child is struggling, therapy can be truly profound.
Therapy for a child who is struggling can change the entire course of that child's life.
No, therapy isn’t magic, and it’s not immediate. It’s not like flipping a switch.
Therapy is like changing the direction of an ocean liner. It takes some time. It’s gradual...but (you’ll be happy to hear) it’s REAL.
Therapy can make lasting, enduring changes in the life of your child.
Much like an ocean liner that is now facing a new direction, these changes can set your child to on an entirely different course: A course that allows your child to experience the world—including you, their family, and themselves—in an entirely fresh, new way.
Yes, children have specific temperaments.
But that doesn’t mean a child of any temperament should suffer failure in school, poor relationships to peers, or a poor relationship with their own parents.
It’s not too late for your child.
Your child has a right (yes, a right!) to experience the happiness and joy that come from learning, loving, and enjoying close relationships with his friends, his siblings, his family, and you.
Let’s make this the year that you’ll talk about 20 years from now: “Thank goodness that we got some help, because the change has been unbelievable.”
Let’s make that your story, and your child’s story!
With respect,
Athena Brewer
